Red Caps

A species of fae, usually appearing as a humanoid, approximately one foot in height wearing a small red hat or cap. Known for killing and eating humans not for food but for some kind of sick pleasure.
Recorded sightings: A humanoid small in stature (approx. 1ft) wearing a red cap was reported spotted by several locals in the Wisconsin region around October 15th, 1641. (documented by Hestia)
The second record is the same thing, but it was spotted in the region of southern Wisconsin around November 3rd, 1874. The second investigation led them to a cave. Inside they found traces of human and animal blood. A couple of bodies and a dead child were also found. The investigators also said they found a "strange odor" around the entrances to the cave. They also reported to have heard what they thought was "screaming" and "crying". The bodies were not positively identified and the deaths are still officially "unsolved". But the smell (rotten eggs and iron), the voices coming from the cave entrance, the blood, and the fact that the cave that these bodies were found in is called "Devil's Cave", all point to the creature being some form of fae or demonic entity. Recent sighting: Feburary 23, 2023, Northwoods Wisconsin. A small, approximately one-foot-tall humanoid wearing a red hat sighted inside the home of Kate Larson. Owner of the home reported strange sounds and food going missing before sighting the creature. (documented by Hestia) There are some records of benign redcaps and due to the lack of violence, this may be an example. We'll keep monitoring it.
