As a young adult, the elf Illidar found much of his free time spent wandering within the mythical Cloudacre Forest, a forest that takes up much of the region of Mythcairn and that holds at its center the then newly blossoming elvin capital of Dreamshire. On one such wandering occurrences, Illidar stumbled across what appeared to be a large and unnatural marble altar he believed to be in ruin. This alter would come to be known as the Alter of Merame. After further inspection Illidar found the alter to be in relatively decent shape, but he was unsure as to its origin. Upon it was a metal stand holding a bowl. Illidar felt the urge to make an offering to whomever the shrine was to, choosing to place his prized silver medallion within the bowl as tribute.
The moment the metallion was fully in the bowl, a treant came out of the woods and attacked the unsuspecting elf. Still young at the time, Illidar was not proficient in fighting or protecting himself. Suddenly the alter behind him lit up as his medallion disappeared and a giant suit of armor appeared behind him, shield and joust in hand. The armor, the deity of Metal, Karvacha, quelled the rampaging treant and saved the young Illidar's life. Illidar swore his allegiance to the deity for saving him, and Karvacha chose to make the young elvish man into his medium. Together they founded the Temple of Karvacha and protected the forest and all of Mythcairn from evil their disappearance.
