Halflings live in close-knit communities called clans. From the outside, their burrows resemble small low hills. Inside, their homes are warm, dry, and comfortable. Each burrow contains a long hallway that ends at the kitchen, a sitting room by the door, a pantry off the kitchen, and 3 or 5 bedrooms off the hallway. Clan membership is passed down by the father. Children are encouraged to date members of the Clan neither parent comes from. Due to this, the three clans are genetically similar, though tend towards different professions.
About a meter tall, Halflings are thin and wiry by nature, though they are capable of obesity.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Their size gives them a +1 to detecting small details.
Civilization and Culture
Due to their low numbers when they arrived, they got in the habit of arranged (with option) marriages.
Halflings have recorded the history of Loam since they arrived here. They are very concerned with bloodline.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Halflings are often found in groups of other races as accountants/historians.
