Traditional family clan name carries on through generation through the male side of the family. When born the child is given a temporary name. A young Raionwaru does not earn their given name until their age of maturity around 15-16 years. Their given name is chosen based upon their actions, deeds, and/or personality at that time. The name is given by the patriarch of the family or the next eldest member of the clan. Those of the upper and royal class are also given a formal nickname which is used in place of their true name when dealing with lower classes as it is disrespectful to use the true name of one of the royal or upper class if that person isn't among the same class.
