Writing Lens (Raitin Lens)

The Writing Lens is a simple mechanical item that some mages and scholars use to write things using vision and muscle-use patterns, sort of like Stephen Hawking, but faster. It's pretty easy to use: the user just has to think about what he/she/it wants to be written down and a few seconds after... Voyala! It's all in the paper. Every letter, word and sentence appears on the paper just like the person wanted. It does not have many uses. Some rogues sometimes utilize this magical item to send hidden messages to friends in the same room, while some lazy scholars use this piece of equipment to write things faster and without any physical effort. The creator of this magical item was Burnus, the Cheerful. He was an ancient halfling mage-lord that lost the control of his hands due to a terrible disease. Therefore, inventful as any halfling and alongside his faithful human companion Juan, he created the Writing Lens so he could continue doing the scientific work that he loved so much: studying the terrbiles parasites that infests potatoes and other tuber vegetables.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

When someone is using the lens, it magically perceives sinapses from the brain that signals what the person wants to be written. The lens then cast a simple magic trick (cantrip) called "Write", and the message starts appearing on the paper.

Manufacturing process

A mage is needed to enchant the materials into the magical item. He has to say a few words in the Arcana language to conclude the magical creation process.

Significance

Small. Only a few people throught out the realms find time, disposition and money to create or buy this almost useless artifact.
