Alterequiem

For what good does the body do the land, filled with unnatural posions to prolong beauty and form for our worldly eyes? Better for our bodies to become ash and be sent to the stars to become the future.
Prytor Na'be, Sermon of the Requiem
Based in a belief that life is given by the god-being Granthor, Alterequiem treats death as but a step in a processes of rebirth.

Culture

Funerary and Memorial customs

Alterequiem is focused more so on the death and memorial rites, but this does not refrain them from touching on a person's way of living. For the Alterequiemst, a life spent in nature free from the chemicals and substances that the rest of the world greedily consumes is a much more satisfying offering for Granthor and his plans to rebuild the universe.   The simple funeral of the Alterequiemst is to burn the bodies of the dead, either by fire or by sending the body into the atmosphere of a nearby planet. Future plans by the group are to be able to directly dispose of the dead by sending them into a nearby star.

Common Taboos

The Alterequiemst forbid the use of chemicals and processes that slow or inhibit the natural decaying of the dead. Members are regularly seen protesting the pharmaceutical company PetrINC for their development of cyrogenic drugs and overt use of the chemical Thaarran.

Major organizations

The Alterequiemst finds easy solace among the Assembly of Fire, though their desires and means are sometimes seen as extremist ideology, especially in light of their unofficial leader Prytor Na'be's once strong use of death by fire for those he considered sinful and unrepentant.

These guys sound like a relatively harmless group. I like that one day they want to send bodies directly into stars. :)
