Vampire Rebellion

The The Vampire Family has some issues. The current head Angelo has failed to maintain control of the family. He's created a powerful rival in Christopher, particularly through their shared, Bad History. The consequences of this have been severe and complex.
Then again, so too has the heroes' meddling caused trouble. In A Moment Out of Time, the heroes accidentally awakened the goddess Artemis, who is now awakened in the present and working to save her werewolves. Senator Rand and others have been workijng on creating their own super soldiers, based on werewolves, creatures known as Apocalypse Wolves.
These two sereis of events have collided, with Vivian arranging a deal between Senator Rand and Christopher. They will use the vampires' trances to control the new wolves and the Vampire Rebellion will use those wolves to overthrow Angelo. Except it's never that straight forward, is it?
In a classic move, Vivian and the vampires doublecross the government. They have acquired something the humans don't know about. Lord Micheal's Crystal. THis is a magical artifact that allows magic users to alter the fabric of the world. It creates a massive power imbalance. The vampires have always been kept in check by the werewolves and the sun itself. Being exposed to death by nuclear cremation for half a day is an extremely potent limiter on abilities. With the crystal, they are able to create eternal night. No more sun.
Simultaneously, the various emergency services (and many heroes) have seemingly disappeared. Another effect of the crystal? There are no humans to oppose them. The Lab meanwhile is in total lockdown. Key people are missing. The defenses are set to automatic. Nothing can approach the facility without being shot to hell. There is no support from there. None of the city's usual defenses are working.
The ensuing chaos has brought the city to the brink of ruin.
Astrid, the main leader of the wolves, suffers a breakdown after so many events have gone wrong. Time travel, the brink of world war 3, villains, monsters, and more. She has always been a dedicated defender of her pack, but you can only take so much. Her freakout spreads through the pack's telepathic link. They are in a state of fight or flight, running on near total instinct against the new wolves. Their instinct around foreign wolves is to crush them.
In the midst of this chaos, the remaining heroes in the city are forced to unite and move on the Vampires if they are to have any hope of stopping this.
They're not completely alone. There is a lone defector amidst the Vampire forces. An Apocalypse Wolf who wasn't under their sway, Luna. Handpicked by Artemis herself. She becomes the first of a new breed of werewolf, the Aegis Wolf.
In the battle to follow, the heroes gain control of Lord Micheal's Crystal and use it to return daylight. The wolves of the The Philadelphia Pack are permenantly changed, becoming Aegis Wolves, except for Granny. After this change, it becomes impossible to create more Apocalypse Wolves. Some believe that Artemis changed something about the nature of magic itself.
