Apocalypse Wolf

The Apocalpyse Wolf is a subspecies of werewolf designed to fix the weaknesses and flaws of a regular werewolf, as determined by Christopher and his backers. Their views are dated, but no less effective at creating an extremely lethal weapon.   So far as the vampires are concerned, the perfect werewolf soldiers need to:
  • Stay in wolf form near 24/7.
  • Have no loyalty to each other.
  • Be eternally loyal to their master and obey all commands without question.
  • Retain a minimal sense of self preservation.
  • Be even more aggressive than a regular werewolf.
They want to have the ultimate soldier. A creature which has absolutely no sense of self, but all the intellect of a human. The ability to examine, think, and immediately implement a path of destruction.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Apocalypse Wolf is a werewolf, but on average, bigger. They're almost entirely, uniformly 12' tall in their anthro forms. Their bodies are more buff, nearly pure muscle across their forms. There have been no considerations taken for their longterm health and survival. These wolves exist to fight and die, nothing else. As much of their bodies as possible have been dedicated to warfare. As such, their internal organs are slightly diminished, they have more muscle mass, and their bones are thicker. The consequence of this is they move slightly slower, their healing powers are greatly diminished, they experience more pain, and in the thick of combat they can lose intellectual capacity to fight on pure instinct.

Genetics and Reproduction

The apocalypse wolves are unable to reproduce on their own. Regular werewolves spread by biting at the peak of their infectivity. This has been determined to be a major weakness. A turned wolf is not guaranteed to be loyal to the appropriate master. It can create powerful enemies or provide an enemy with soldiers. The only way to create an Apocalypse Wolf is in the lab. There is a virus that must be injected intravenously into the recipient, which will begin the transformation process.   Once injected, it will take two days to go from a regular human to a wolf. Psychologically, the aggression and murderous nature of the werewolf will be there, but the natural vampiric sway involved in becoming an Apocalypse Wolf will essentially suppress it completely.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Apocalypse Wolves have a very high demand for calories. In battle, they're expected to literally eat their enemies. The vampires have seen Lee Winship and Alex Winship sustain themselves from their enemy's bodies, at least, for Lee when he was fighting monsters and demons. Those might be moreso stories passing through the criminal underground. In either case, the Apocalypse Wolves are mostly cannibals.   Outside of combat, the Apocalypse Wolves are fed with either livestock, vitamin supplements intravenously injected, or put into an extremely low-energy sleep. It's literally possible to throw these wolves on a shelf to await their next battle.

Additional Information

Social Structure

The Apocalypse Wolves don't follow traditional pack structuring. They have a lose squad-structure, where some wolves are recognized as being in charge by the others. Most of their commands are passed in grunts, growls, and gestures which are entirely unknown to humans. It's a personal, internal language. They are physically capable of talking, but choose not to do so unless commanded or forced to, in order to complete a task. Speaking is too-human for them.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

In order to maximize combat effectiveness, the Apocalypse Wolf has diminished sensory capacity. Although werewolves are renowned for their incredible sense of smell and hearing, these new wolves have none of that. Battlefields are horrifically loud, scents can be part of a creature's identity, and honestly these wolves were meant to be a blunt, brute instrument. They're meant to overcome their enemies, track escaped prisoners, by shear overwhelming numbers.   These wolves have no telepathy, no sense of pack, and while their senses are above humans, they're just nothing to other super naturals.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

The Apocalypse Wolf depends entirely on another species for all of its directions and care. As designed, they require a specific vampire to give them orders. If they are not given orders, they will literally starve to death. They need to be fed or told to eat, except in combat. Their relation to their vampire masters is essentially symbiotic. The vampires provide for their care and they obey all commands.   Arguably, the relationship isn't exactly even. The wolves will fight and die for their commanders. The vampires only real role is commanding them to act on his will and in exchange, they get to live another day. Still, it's the only way they can survive. Without their sworn master, they're machines on a course to self destruct.

All Apocalypse Wolves have a section of their fur essentially tatooed to have their serial number. This number is on each shoulder and the base of their neck. The latter, it's more visible on their skin than on the fur.
