Licentia

The world of Licentia is not what it used to be. We carved the wilds to build our cities and fuel our machinations. Through the manipulation of aether, ores, and the life which persists, our world was a place of abundance and convenience. The kingdoms were not all at peace. But It was OUR world. The world belonged to all persons. That was before the cataclysm.   3,000 year ago, the wilds fought back. Trees grew up through buildings. machinations burst into flame. Mages became consumed by the magics they once manipulated. Once peaceful creatures developed powers and a hatred for people. The world we knew was torn a sunder. But we survived.   The planet still belongs to the wilds. The unstable magics and the creature who inhabit them makes traveling dangerous and communication near impossible. But people are nothing if not relentless. Through the resurrection of old technology and modern innovations, we will soon be able to cross the wilds with ease. However, such trips will not be easy for the pioneers who have been recruited to lay down the first of those tracks.
