Persephone

Persephone is the largest settlement on Icelus, founded in E2.Y204 by Bel. Persephone was the first foothold of what would become the Ea Syndicate. Today it remains the capital of the Syndicate, and one of the most important manufacturing centers in the Mid-System. Among the goods produced there is most notably drugs. Persephone is home to vast production and growth facilities for drugs, which are processed and exported. It is also home to significant ice-farming efforts, exporting clean fresh water to the space stations orbiting the Mid System. The planet is one great frozen ball of water, which has made this a successful endeavour. A high price is placed on clean drinking water.

History

Persephone was settled in E2.Y204, after the Ea Syndicate established sovereignty over the planet Icelus in a court case before The Symposium. The claim led to intense controversy among the Brass. However, it assured the Syndicate's wealth. Bel went on to develop the colony, establishing a series of manufacturing plants that fostered the drug industry of Libertas.
