Dugly is the Water-type Starter Pokémon of the Lesho Region and forms a trio with Diristella and Reedling. It evolves into Wingit starting at level 21, which is later than any other starter Pokémon of any other region so far.
Dugly's odd round shape, itching voice and rough plumage, together with its lack of arms or wings, make it rather unpopular compared to the wide array of starter Pokémon throughout the regions. But wise trainers have heard the tale of the ugly Dugly and know just too well not to judge a book by its cover...
Anatomy & Morphology
A Dugly's body is round and feathered. The black plumage is soft on the belly, but fairly short and scrubby at the rest of the body. It has a long orange Duckbill and round blue eyes. It stands on long Duck-Feet. Besides that, it has no limbs.
Genetics and Reproduction
"Sometimes, when you leave one at the daycare, an egg just appears. Nobody knows how that happens."
Shiny VariantShow spoiler
TriviaDugly's name is composed of the words "Duck" and "Ugly". It is based on the tale of the Ugly Duckling, which is a tale of an ugly duckling becoming the most beautiful water bird of them all when growing up: a swan. This explains why Dugly is objectively the weakest of the three starter Pokémon.
