Isle of Light
The isle of light is a small island in the northeastern part of Leorden. Throughout the ages it has aquired an almost mythical status. Despite this many rulers of nations in Valahir still make sure to keep the island's legendary rulers, the Champions of Light, satisfied, lest their awesome power be turned against them. The isle of light does not have a centralized government and is not a formal state. Instead, it consists of two settlements with their own governments. Despite this it is generally acknowledged that the Elder One rules the isle. In the west the port city of Lofoten is inhabited by a tight knit community of different speciesand the western part of the island. Security and law enforcement is handled by a mercenary guard force, although some guardians from Phoenix Guard also garrison the town from time to time.
Geography
The Raotor mountain chain is separates the island in two wildly different halves. The contrast can be seen clearly when one has been to both sides. A cold, snowy wasteland covers the west while the east is in a state of almost constant summer. Researchers and scholars have proposed the theory that it is the magic which revolves around the island that causes its climate to be so irregular. Previously, people would sail to the city of Brunby, situated in the easternmost part of the island, since it was easier to get to the de facto capital of the island, Phoenix Guard, from there. However, Brunby was destroyed by a magical explosion and since then all who wish to come to the isle must land in Lofoten, a large city in the westernmost part of the island. The path from Lofoten to Phoenix Guard is treacherous and the only way to get from one side of the island to another is through the Dawn Gate. The gate is located in the middle of the Rautor Mountains and is constantly guarded by at least 1000 guardians of light and serves as the point where the forces of the island repulse any western invaders. The eastern part of the island is said to be very beautiful and pilgrims frequently make the journey to Phoenix Guard in summer. Apart from the Rautor Mountains and many scattered small mountain chains in the north of the island and around Lofoten the island mostly consists of flatlands, dense forests and some hills.
Fauna & Flora
In the west there is little animal life or vegetation so the inhabitants of Lofoten often have to survive by buying supplies from other countries in exchange for rare gems in the mountains nearby, sometimes the champions of light send supplies to the city by teleportation when it is nescessary. In the eastern part of the island there is however an extremely diverse and rich flora and fauna, there is all types of unique vegetation and animals that live nowhere else and have clearly been affected by the magic on the isle. Hunting is not a common practice on the isle and is more the exception than the rule, this is also one of the factors that has led the animals and the vegetation on the island to thrive and grow rich and diverse.
Natural Resources
There are many precious and valuable gems in the Raotor Mountains and in the small mountains surrounding Lofoten. These are often sold at high prices to the various nobles and rich merchants of Leorden to decorate weapons, armors, clothing and jewelry. This has led Lofoten and the various small communities near the Raotor mountains to center their economies on mining and excavation.

One day, Gemri the Engineer came along and asked "why don't you collect your poo somewhere to terraform an area of the West to be good for farming? That way you can horde your wealth or spend it on other things". The reply he got shocked him: "Dude chill out we have enough non-perishable foods we bought stored up to last us like 5 years if anything goes down and we still rolling in random stuff we buy from merchants, even with them charging us like 10 times as much as anyone else."
