Horn of Garthak

On the northeast of Thornsglinn resides the Horn of Garthak.
It is standard for sailors of any kind to pay tribute to Kord before going on a journey over water, even if it is only to locally fish. The horn is on a slightly elevated stone plateau and stands only inches away from the cliff that thornsglinn.
The horn is held up by three supports two at the front and one at the back. The horn itself is wallnut brown and is made out of brass. it is finely carved, with symbols on it representing strength and power in all kinds of cultures. Dwarves, dragonborn, human, orcs and others. In celestial at the top there is also the phrase: Live with a will strong as the sea and and with a heart brave enough to face the lighting.
The horn itself is lightly enchanted with abjuration magic to make it so that it doesn't age.
The horn of garthak is actually a horn that soothes a storm giant quintessent which resides far below the ocean and has a high preference for low toned voices to help her sleep however when the sees are being traversed withouth the horn being used she will awaken and lay her rage upon them for disturbing her sleep.

Purpose / Function

It is a special type of prayer to the lord of storms. Where before each sailing ship the horn must be used by the person who is most capable of using the horn. it is believed by the people of thornsglinn the harder the horn thunders the higher the chance the trip will go smoothly. Some times someone is only hired for that reason. There is a legend where once the horn was blown and the person who blew it fell ill and couldn't make it onto the ship. That ship was never seen again nor from any of the crew. They are thought to have angered Kord and sunk it without survivers.

Architecture

It is build in a mostly nordic style horn with a band around the middle of it as kind of a handhold for somebody of giant proportion.
