Tumbleweed Gazette

A weekly publication with the purpose of spreading current news (occasionally sensationalist) across the whole of Lennador. Readers are able to be informed of the major current events within a reasonably timely manner. Established in 1816 A.P. the publication has become a vital part of Lennadorian culture for most societies that read or speak in Lennadorian common. Their circulation expanded enough that they began publishing a version devoid of magical content targeting Mudane or magical-avoidance readers in addition to the printing for the magically inclined which includes articles written in Deza Enokera. Special editions are published daily in Naidusk for the Magicae Saturnalia Agunt and Tenebra Foederis at the events.

Originally founded 62 harvests ago by Tsihnaea SvEqouuahna of the Yeiiwudti SvOanugi tribe. Centaurs had already been acting as an express mail delivery service and often found that they were questioned by locals in smaller communities about goings on in the greater world. Tsihnaea saw this as an opportunity to connect the various TsienvTsaauuwuiianu tribes, hoping to unite them over knowledge and mutual understanding rather than conflicts resulting in battle and raids of each other’s encampments. Tsihnaea is now retired from the publishing trade but his noble achievement as earned him the position of a highly regarded chief. He still frequently meets with Chroniclers, Researchers, and reporters from many other races seeking his council. Centaurs are still vitally important to the Tumbleweed Gazette since they remain more reliable (and less dangerous) than rail travel invented by wizards. However, due to the lengthy nature of the centaur's language, publishing in Lennadorian common quickly replaced it to increase readership.

With the newly completed rail lines between An-Tyr, Whitlow Fidge and San-Salla established (connection to Glubokiy Sneg in the works) distribution of such materials, and the information they contain, connects the denizens of Lennador like never before. While there have been issues with the engines exploding en route, the Mage Conductors have assured the printing office that the issues will be resolved soon. Originating in Fiddlehead Gultch, inventors from An-Tyr were engaged to create a machine capable of scribing multiple documents at once, more efficiently than the same task done with magic.

Many small local news papers have also been established in association with the Gazette to offer daily news leaflets to local communities. Thus the Tumbleweed has a growing network of reporters able to submit articles for the weekly Gazette, giving a wide representation in the type of news they are able to publish.

Purpose

The only (mostly) reliable and widespread news outlet in Lennador.
