Leaves-Amid-Glass Courthouse

The Leaves-Amid-Glass courthouse is the largest building in the ramshackle mining town. Although it is now the seat of the town council, it is believed to have once been used as a hideout by the legendary bandit Redcrow.

Purpose / Function

The building serves as the mining town's courthouse, governor's office, and community gathering place. It is the largest and most prestigious building in Leaves-Amid-Glass, although given the state of the rest of the town that isn't saying much.

Architecture

The wooden courthouse stands out among the other plain buildings in Leaves-Amid-Glass both because of its blue painted roof and because it is one of the few two-story buildings in the entire town.

History

The courthouse was built by the original settlers of the region, but was eventually abandoned along with the rest of the town. After the forgotten village began to fall into ruin, the courthouse was claimed as a hideout by Redcrow and his band of Crows. The thieves stored much of their supplies in the building's basement, and their secret was never discovered until decades after Redcrow's death and the Crows' disbandment.

Once a viridian salt mine was established nearby years later, a new group of mine workers reclaimed and repaired the old town. It was only then that the symbol of the legendary bandit lord was discovered carved into the doorframe of the courthouse.

The Courthouse Treasure

According to local legend, Redcrow hid most of his treasure somewhere inside or around the courthouse. Rumors of secret panels and hidden passages abound, but none have ever actually been found. Just about all of the grounds around the building have been searched by hopeful treasure seekers even after repeated reprimands from the governor who doesn't appreciate having her lawn dug up.
