There are several key technological fields and devices which are crucial to the infrastructure of the Federacy; this document attempts to talk about a few of them, though is not comprehensive.
The Federacy and its agents/resources as a whole act at T3 (PrimeTek) with some T4 resources available. All Major Houses have at least one T3 resource while Minor Houses or Free Houses have access to at least T2. See
FASTER for a general view of Technology ratings.

MindTek
PsiTek
Devices granting effectual psionic abilities in the Telepath and Clairvoyant realms exist. At T1, they are room sized. At T2 the devices are suit sized and require significant power to use and the abilities expand to Telekinetic hurling and disruption (no real fine control available). At T3, the devices are much smaller and are capable of emulating Telekinetic abilities with external grav module. Some wear them as “headbands” and they are usually powered by @Excell. There was hope that this would reduce the dependence on actual Clairvoyants for interstellar travel, but there seems to be a higher instance of
Hypernavigation Fatigue for those who navigate using MindTek. At T4, the higher incidence of Hypernavigation Fatigue is conquered, and esoteric psionic abilities can be duplicated.
BoostTek
The difference between PsiTek and BoosTek is small, but discomforting and not general knowledge: BoostTek is about boosting the ability of active Psions. A boosted Psion is capable of frightening things and it’s rumored that some have found ways to get around being detected. Of course, this is strictly a rumor.
CyberTek
CyberTek allows the user to directly interface with an information system, greatly multiplying the efficiency of use and the speed with which data is processed and manipulated. The problem is that CyberTek places the user(s) in the Cyber Realm, a place not well understood by anyone, yet and it has many inherent dangers. It also allows for a near casual ability to hack systems. Fortunately, cyberpaths are extremely rare.
