Legends of Destiny

Long ago, humanity sought to expand their reach beyond their small homeworld of Earth. Arriving on Mars, explorers soon came face-to-face with a mysterious entity known only as the Traveler, bringing gifts to the humans in the form of new technologies, innovations, increased lifespans, and everything they needed to achieve their dreams of expanding beyond Earth and extending their reach deep into the Solar System.   But, an ancient enemy of the Traveler pursued it into the Solar system, cornering humanity into the system as most of their far-reaching colonies and worlds were lost to the Darkness and its followers. In one last-ditch attempt to protect humanity from its enemy, the Traveler fought back against the Darkness in a battle that has now left both entities broken and weakened. One last gift from the Traveler to humanity: machines called Ghosts with the power to resurrect specific individuals and imbue them with a fraction of the Traveler's power so that they could fight when the traveler itself could not.   Now, centuries have passed since that great battle, and Guardians have rebuilt many of the great wonders of the past, but great dangers still lurk within the shadows, waiting for their chance to strike again...   © Bungie, Inc.
