Leela

They say this world was created by the Goddess Leela, born of her Memories, her Love, & her Dreams. And so the ancient ones called the land by her name, in gratitude for the life that she gave to them long ago.   This continent is filled with many types of diverse beings, species of those who fly and those who swim, those who mine beneath the earth, and those who live high in the treetops. And though people still quabble over trade, fight for love, and strive to find their place in a wild world, this is a golden age of prosperity and peace. Though the taste of war lingers still in the memory of the long-lived folk, many people of Leela have never known such atrocity in their lifetime.   Dangerous creatures do inhabit this realm, but rarely do they attack the towns and cities of Leela. Some settlements have their own militia, but most are protected by the The'Skari, the watchful guard devoted to protecting the people of Leela from both local crime and piracy, as well as from shadow beasts or abberant creatures should they ever threaten the peace of this land.   The world of Leela is a world of magic and wonder, where many beings are fed and happy, nourished by ancient magical relics left by the Goddess. In the city of Chromatia, for example, no being is allowed to go unfed or unwell. There is still rich trade and competition in the ranks of society, for those who seek to pursue fame and fortune. And yet, this generation does not know the pain of starvation thanks to the gifts of the Goddess - the Relics of Aevum.   But whispers of change have been heard across the land.
