After Jon, Lona and Zairah had passed the Wall, the mountain range between Eleonis and Lupear, they found themselves in unexpected company when a kind of border patrol of four men under lupean colours, a black wolf on silver ground, crossed their way. They cut them off and started asking questions.

"Who are you and what are you doing in Lupear?" their leader demanded.

"Who's asking?" Lona responded, copying his tone exactly.

"Nicoleas Aorelis, Crown Prince of Lupear and Lord of Aorelia. And I don't like to ask a second time." the leader answered snootily.

"I'm Lona, these two are Zairah and my brother, Jon. We're passing through and, with respect, our business is none of yours." Lona said.

"May be, but my father is the King, so it's his business. We'll take you to Aorelia, where he'll decide what to with you. And I strongly suggest you don't resist or we'll have no choice but to take you in by force." Nicoleas informed them. Jon and Lona exchanged a smile. Rich, powerful father. A card only men with nothing else to show for played.

"What are you smirking at?" Nicoleas demanded.

"Nothing. And as you can see, we're not resisting." Jon said plainly. Nicoleas watched them doubtfully for a second before nodding to his men. They took the three travellers between them and rode off.

At nightfall, they made camp on the shore of the Lupean Sea. This sea was actually a lake which earned it's name from it's sheer size.

"So, what are a boy from Eleonis, his sister and a Serbaith girl doing in Lupear?" asked Nicoleas, who had sat down between Jon and Lona at the campfire.

"As my sister already told you, we're just passing through, the rest is none of your concern." Jon said in annoyance.

"Look at that, you're a tough one, aren't you? Do you even know who you're talking to?" Nicoleas asked arrogantly.

"He does, you've sufficiently introduced yourself." Lona said.

"Sweetheart, no one was talking to you." Nicoleas said condescendingly, placing his hand on her thigh, "Your sister is as beautiful as a rose. Perhaps she'll tell me more after I showed her how we wolves make a woman happy."

"Very bad idea." Jon mumbled, while Lona casually drew her knife.

"Better be careful then, roses have thorns." she said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Nicoleas asked.

"It means touch me and I'll make you bleed, and if you keep misbehaving, I might just make it enough bleeding to kill you." Lona replied challengingly. Nicoleas started to laugh without removing his hand, but when the sharp blade of Lona's knife landed dangerously close to his crotch, he shut up immediately.

"Get your hands off me right now or I'll chop off your royal balls, am I understood?" Lona threatened. Nicoleas complied with a mortified expression. The others broke out in laughter.

"For once, that wasn't ironic." Lona said dryly and put away her knife.

"But your face is making me very happy now. Thank you." she added in Nicoleas' direction.
