Forgotten Paradise

The Forgotten Paradise is a green and lush valley far into the warm and dry wilderness of The Drylands.

Geography

The Forgotten Paradise lies within one of the greater canyons of The Drylands. It is a big grassland, filled with trees and bushes, as filled with colorful flowers as the grass they stand on. In the middle on the valley a rivers meanders forth, giving fresh water to both greenery and animals. Spread out in the valley are also oxbow lakes, left by the river as its meandering body has but itself with years.   There are three different areas that make up The Forgotten Paradise, each of them connected by tighter green passages within the canyon. As they all are connected they are very similiar in nature but have some small differences.   The Meandering Canyon is the largest area and where the river has meandered most. Most animals live here   The Moon Canyon is the next largest area. Within it there is only one lake, but it is large and its moon shape is what gives the name. In the middle of this large lake an abundance of crabs live beneath the muddy water, living of small insects and slugs.   The Sacred Canyon is the smallest area. Few creatures live here permanently and those that visit it only does so in special circumstances. It is here that the spirit that guards the paradise from the dangers of The Drylands live.

Fauna & Flora

Trees

There are three types of trees dominant: Flamewillow, Rubber Tree and Ipe. Flamewillow is a willowtree with bright orange leaves. The leaves glimmer like fire in the bright sun. Ipe is a grey tree with hard wood and pink flowers.

Flowers

Lovers Embrace is a rare version of Night & Day (Melampyrum nemorosum) which can be found in the northern parts of Lavera. As Night & Day it is a flower hat seems to be two flowers at once. one head is made of pink toothed petals and the other of round yellow ones. it is said to be a very potent ingredient in potions that affect emotions.   Passiflora, or passion flower, grows as vines on trees and small rocks near the oxbow lakes. All of them have a big pale crown of petals as base for colorful tendrils.

Bushes

There are a lot of different small bushes here, covered either with berries or thorns.

Other Plants

Herbivores

Many different herbivores live here, rabbits, deer, birds and more. While some are common in other parts of Lavera, others can only be found here. The most noteworthy of these creatures are listed below   Willow Squirrel, also called Flame Squirrel, is a squirrel colored as fire. It lives in the flamewillow trees and uses its colour to blend in with the leaves. They love to eat of the willow trees, and during so takes the seeds with it in its fur to spread out on the grasslands.
Initially the squirrel protected itself by pretending to be a flame, with the glimmering of its fur looking like fire, and mimicking sound of fire with its voice. But with fires being close to non existent in the paradise it with time became a much worse defense than just hide in the flamewillows.

Carnivores

There are a number of different carnivores in the canyons. Lynx is one of them, another is the wind wolf, a wolf being able to control air magic to leap further than normal creatures.

Spirits

There are a lot of weak spirit within the valley but most noticeable is the guardian spirit in the sacred canyon. it is not known for any specific form or feature.

Tourism
