MJ's Apartment

The door opened and MJ walked in. I glanced up at her. "Hey."

"Hey," She hung her purse on the hook next to the door.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"Didn't you save a stalled bus on the metro tracks today?" She shrugged off her coat and rolled her eyes at me. "Stop apologizing already."

Mary Jane's home is a comfortable one-bedroom apartment in downtown Lauthon. It doesn't have much, but there aren't any rats, and it keeps the rain off!

Floorplan

The apartment only has three rooms: a combined living room and kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The kitchen is very small, with all of the appliances lined up against one wall. The living room is decently spacious, with a couch, a desk, a coffee table, and a nice soft rug lying across the floor. MJ's desk and computer are also in the living room, next to the sliding glass doors that lead to the balcony. She decorates a bulletin board in front of her desk with pictures of Reina and Peter, prints of articles that she was proud of, and to-do lists.

Inside the bedroom is a queen-sized bed, a night table, and a TV. MJ is very organized. All of her clothes are always put away in their correct places. She likes to keep her bedroom as clean as possible so that she doesn't have to worry about it when it's time for her to go to sleep. The entrance to the bathroom is in the bedroom. It has a combined shower/tub, a toilet, and a sink all crammed into a tiny square space.

MJ doesn't have a washer or dryer in her apartment, but the building has a communal laundromat on the bottom floor. She often grumbles about having to lug all of her clothes downstairs to wash them. This also means that Reina has to get creative about when and where she washes any Spidergear.

Your Home is My Home

MJ is very lax with visitors. Her close friends are allowed to stop by her place whenever they need to, even on short notice. She is familiar with having an unreliable living arrangement from her childhood, so she is always eager to help whenever she can. She isn't naive, though. She is well aware when someone is trying to take advantage of her kindness.

Presently, Reina has been living in MJ's apartment for the past three weeks. She has set up camp on her couch, her items and clothing piled haphazardly on and around it. She is very careful to keep all of her Spider-stuff hidden--usually stuffed under cushions--in the event that somebody who doesn't know the secret stops by for a visit.

Reina feels a lot of guilt for using MJ's apartment. She tries to alleviate this guilt by cleaning and doing the dishes as often as possible. Sometimes MJ will wake up early to find Reina has deep cleaned the kitchen at 2 AM.

MJ appreciates that Reina helps around the apartment, but she is admittedly not thrilled that she has had to stay as long as she has. Regardless, MJ loves her friend, and she knows that keeping a home paid for as a vigilante justice is far from easy. She is willing to let Reina stick around as long as she keeps doing the dishes.
