Visolaris fluviam
Fysiology
Visolaris is a delicate carnivorous waterplant that grows in shallow, rapid flowing water.A single blueish bowl-shaped leave floats on the surface of the water. A sweet smelling sticky substance covers the leave to attract insects during the day. During the night the trapped insects are dissolved and funneled into the plant's stem.
The sticky mucus is produced in a pod under the leave. During sunrise 1 to 3 orange buds grow in the heart of the bowl. After 10 to 15 minutes the buds pop, splattering the mucus over the leave.
Usage
The Pikabird is known to scrape mucus of the leave with it's beak. It is believed that the bird uses the mucus to feed it's chicks. It is possible for humanoids to pick these so-called sunberries from the Visolaris. In order to do so the fragile bud must be twisted to seal the gap with the pod, and then gently be pulled or cut loose. Rarely, when the bud is picked early, a new smaller bud is produced by the plant.
Visolaris that has not eaten for a couple of days loose their blue teint and perish.
Reproduction
Visolaris reproduces by shedding a small seed from it's stem into the water. It is unknown how the plant gets inseminated, but some clerics believe that the Nightridler, a nocturnal mantis, transports pollen between male and female Visolaris.Mechanics & Inner Workings
Sunberries give 2d6 fast healing during the day.

Author's Notes
When poisonous, the berry does acid damage. See (ask) my notes for more information.
