Mavis Varnell was born into the wealthy Varnell Family in Winden, Temlan. Her family comes from new money founded through a lucrative trading business that found success with the advent of airship transportation.
She was paralyzed from the neck down at a young age; but thankfully recovered with the help of war-forged medical technology.
She studied at the Wagner College of Automata. After graduation, she joined a research expedition to the Ruins of Farnum in order to expand her knowledge.
