Moon Dance Festival

From the Talconos Travel Guide…

If you’re coming for a visit during the clear sky season, stop by the Moon Dance Festival! It is an annual event where visitors and residents alike can observe the two moons dance in the twilight sky.

Mining and resource harvesting are at its lowest during the year to preserve the machinery’s integrity. Plus, the Alliance’s regulations mandate that there be an agreed-upon shutdown times for preservation of the planets.

While clear sky season means that you, dear Traveler, can see the stars in all their glory, there are only three nights where the two moons dance as they do in Clear Month 2.

Ravina, the blue moon, and Boquith, the gray moon, are usually very far apart and rarely do you see both in the sky at the same time any other time of year. During these three days, they appear to come close to each other as if they would collide before moving far away from each other for the rest of the year.

The story goes they named the moons after the deities, Ravina and Boquith. A tragic story of love, betrayal, and sacrifice. The highlight of the event is the retelling of the three-part story broadcasted in all Lighted Zones. Each part is done by a different performance group that have collaborated to create one cohesive story. While these acts are professionally produced and intriguing to the eye, we recommend that you read the Tales of The Lapix for further details.

To better view the event, many planet residents either travel to the Far Wastes or parts of Talconos where the energy sources are shut off for the three nights.

If traveling to the Far Wastes, be prepared for quite the camping trip. There are frozen dunes, the Lost Ruins, and the company of fellow campers wanting to see the event. Please note that there are little to no resources in the Far Wastes, so do pack prepared and be ready to defend your provisions with your life.

If staying in Talconos and wish to view from the BlackOut zones, please do be careful. Unsavory beings lurk in those spots and will take a chance on you for easy mugging. Augumented people are especially cautioned as security protocols can be compromised within BlackOut zones.

Overall, the three nights are filled with dancing, consumption of sensory enhancements, and the sell of rarities in the Double Moon Market in one of the Lighted zones.
