The Caper In Aisle 6

Prologue   A few blocks south of the Dickon's House inside Lankhmar; two shady individuals huddled closely on a brisk spring night. Both were completely mesmerized by the details of the mapped plans that lay before them that they didn't even notice the third of their band of brothers enter...   A single wicked candle light flame wavered as the light breeze blew through the front door. Tic, that is what they call him on the mean streets of Lankhmar, extended his arms and shook the midnight chill from his cloak. His two accomplices were standing across the cramped room peering at what he already knew would be the greatest caper since the infamous Mouser and his lug head partner's exploits.   He had just returned from a brief meeting with that beautifully tenacious Lore Whisperer. Lor as they call her in the streets, was diligently seeking some information on the letter that he 'accidentally' obtained weeks ago during a crazy party at the Dickon's House. Even the thought of snatching an item from that house, is like committing suicide here in Lankhmar. But Tic didn't really give it to much thought, as if the notorious armchair thief Dickon was as good as they say he was , well he would have caught us during the party. His thoughts trailed off as he approached the others, who still have not identified his presence.   "That is about to change..." whispered Tic to himself.   He crept up right behind them reaching around each of their maws, he pounced!   "What the f..." said Dunstan but didn't get to finish his blasted curse.   The other short burly of a man was Knuckles and he simply didn't say anything other than reach his hand, and turn to see his attacker's face. All while bearing down with his wild eyes of disdain and refute.   Dunstan was the first to naturally voice his opinion, "By KOS's left hairy nut, you scared the pissed out of me."   Tic let go and simply laughed at the others saying, " What you boys up to?" He knew well and good what they were up to, but did they? That was the real question of the night.   Knuckles chimed in, " We are looking at the plans, Tic. You know like you told us too."   Dunstan was somewhat smaller than the others, not weak necessarily but he had skills in other ways. He had an innate ability to crawl through the smallest of holes. And in the their business, that came in handy more times than not. He looked at Tic saying, "Where have you been, kissing on the ladies of the night?"   Both Knuckles and Dunstan quickly nudged each other as if they already knew what he was doing and who he was doing it to.   Tic didn't pay them no mind, quickly dismissing their childish goads and his thoughts again dwelt on his earlier encounter with that Lor chic. She was willing to pay so much for that letter but when he told her of some of the antiquities that him and his brothers observed, she adjusted her focus in on one item of interest.   Some silly looking pure silver necklace with a locket dangling in the shape of a human Eye. While slowly looking around and getting down to the serious business at hand Tic look up at his two partners saying, "Ok boys, it's time to hit Old Man Dickon and hit it we shall."   He continued in a whisper after all their faces huddled up once more, "Who am I to judge boys. What people think are valuable or not. She is willing to pay us..."   Dunstan rudely interjected at that moment, " How much? " As Knuckles nodded his agreement to the petty question.   Tic didn't seem to mind the interruption or rather he was used to it happening most of the time. He continued, "More than we have ever received from any patron before, she told me that the locket was worthless but the pure silver necklace was priceless."   He let that sink in a bit and then said, " What we are going to do is not only do a quick snatch and grab of the necklace, but we are going to grab everything we can, everything we want, everything we can carry out of that narrow but deep former guildsman house where he mocks everyone with his fortunes."   Knuckles and Dunstan both admittedly agree to what is being said.   Tic made a final comment before blowing out the candle, "The item we are looking for is on Aisle 6 and we are going to clean house tonight."   ----To Be Continued-----
