Feywild
Beware of mushroom circles, child.
The Feywild is a Plane of Existence that is very closely linked to the Prime Plane, causing geography and locations to be linked between the two.
Just because they are linked does not mean it is easy to navigate if one is known due to geography and time being warped relative to each other. For example, a grove in the prime plane might be a forest in the feywild, or a castle in the feywild might be an abandoned ruin watchtower in the prime plane.
Because these planes are so closely linked it sometimes happens that a planar portal appears spontaneously. These often reshape the flora around it, creating mushroom circles, forest clearings and similar phenomenon.
Flora and Fauna
Like with the geography, the flora and fauna are very similar to the Prime Plane, but a lot more wild and untamed.
Fey
The fey are the dominant form of life in the feywild and consists of creatures of many sizes and shapes, all of which have some supernatural abilities powered by natures magic.
Governance
The most noticeable organizations that have claim on locations in the feywild are fey courts. These come in all sorts of themes and sizes.
The claim on locations is often contested. Either contested by other fey courts or by wild beasts or by smaller fey that can't fully establish themselves.
Fey Courts
The courts are often referred to by their themes in the common tongue of the prime plane, rather than the name that they use themselves.
It is common for stories spreading in the prime plane to use terms borrowed from Sylvan, such as "seelie" and "unseelie", but it is important that when this happens the cultural context is often lost or twisted.
Court of Spring
Ruled by Titania, the Court of Spring aims to let life blossom in as many lacations as possible.
Court of Summer
Instead of fostering new life, the Court of Summer wants to promote the growth of existing life.
Court of Autumn
Too much life makes everything unpleasantly crowded, and so it must be culled.
Court of Winter
Ruled by Mab, the Court of Winter has long pushed for life to take a break and rest. There are rumours that there has been an upset in the ruling court, but little information leaks to the prime plane.
