The Winterlands
It may be cold, dark and harsh, but the Winter provides many riches to those willing to find them
Geography
It's the taiga forest immediatelly south of the PannDorsal. The area is mostly flat with single hills or small mounts dotting the land. High cliffs mark the border with warmer lands, where the orononto river and its feeders fall into the azure lake before continuing south.
It streaches from coast to coast and the base of the Panndorsal in the north to the just north of the Sioghai territory in the south. It is split into east and west forests by the Great Gulch.
Due to its high latitude, during the winter there are roughly 3 months of very short days (down to perpetual night for a month in the north up to 6 hour days in the south). The reverse happens during summer, though the temperatures don't usually raise about 20 ºC.
Fauna & Flora
The flora is dominated by conifer like trees in most of the region. Red lichen bushes and stone growths can also be found in some areas. During the summer, bright parasitic vines may cover the canopies.
Fauna depends on the area, with the most ubiquitous animals being Shorns (Dear whose horns may glow during mating season), Tusk Caps (mobile tusked fungy occupying the same niche as hogs), Chirogs, Tetrahydras (See numenera corebook) and wolf spiders (spider like mammals with the ability to weave crystaline webs). Hapax (see numenera bestiary) can also be found migrating inland in the summer
The area is also known to harbor "The Eye of the Tempest", a giant creature usually accompanied by blizzards (add link latter)
Natural Resources
This is a large area with a vast array of natural and supernatural resources to be found. The resources of note are:

Lake Jelly from the lakeshelf Mount;
Ice opals near the Gulch;
Nahrlrus leather from the coastal regions;
Rockwood and Mantis eggs in some Mounts.
