Language of Flowers

Written by GaleForceW1nds

The Language of Flowers. A tradition passed down from parent to child, mother to daughter, father to son. It is also an exceedingly rare language to even know about in the firs place. It is even more rare to use it with any degree of proficiently. This encoded language is used by royalty and nobility. It is used to discreetly send messages between those who understand it. It is also useful for those in the other Kingdom or Empire. Being able to communicate with others while the foreigners are almost guaranteed to not know what it means. It helps tie the people of Roris with nature and honoring what it supplies to them.

Writing System

Although there is no written aspect of this language, people have used some flowers as code. For example: A letter could be written, the flower Rhododendron would be mentioned at some point in said letter, the reader would realize there is some sort of danger to look out for, and they could then use context clues of the surrounding text to determine the source of the danger. This method could also be used to send secret love notes, both in the letters or in poetry. Using symbolism to convey the message.

Geographical Distribution

This language is most commonly used in the capitol of Roris, but it has a spread all over the Kingdom. Instances of it popping up in Trumore have also become more common. Although, due to the abundance of flowers, it is easier to use this method of communicating in Roris. The method of learning is supposed to be passed down from parent to child. Due to this, it is a very restricted and exclusive language.
