The Bitter Watcher

Gleneam is the second leader of The Shadow Legion, the right hand man of Arckran themself. His duty is to watch over the Darklands and eastern Rena using the shadow familiar of a great eagle. He also transports information across Laeriss to the other divisions of the legion, though serving the legion in this way is not the true goal of Gleneam, in truth he wishes to overthrow Arckran and become the leader of the legion himself. Gleneam desperately wants to rise above his station at every point in his life, never even satisfied when he was a part of the second richest family on Laeriss. His twitch of jealously is a clear showcase of his contempt, and not even the gods are too powerful to escape his sight of ceaseless envy.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Gleneam is a tall Aarakocra who resembles an eagle. His wingspan is very large, often increased in size by the use of his familiar. He is thin, though not unhealthily so, aiding his great dexterity.

Special abilities

Gleneam is one of Shraenire's shadow wielders, powerful disciples of Shraenire who possess great abilities nurtured from birth. Gleneam's ability takes the shape of a giant shadow eagle familiar, he uses his familiar to fly at incredible speeds and fire down black feathers as sharp as an assassin's blade. He is the second most powerful member of The Shadow Legion, second only to Arckran.

Personal history

Gleneam was born in Nai' De to the second richest family in both the city and Laeriss as a whole. His family was always filled with contempt for the richest of the city and constantly warred with them for power. After many years of hard work, they became the richest people on Laeriss, even above the great kings and council members. Until, Nelleidis quickly rose back to the top and further due to the creation of his Airships and new ownership of Xports incorporated. Filled with bitter rage, Gleneam was quick to join The Shadow Legion in the hopes that he could one day be on top and run the world himself.

Education

Gleneam went to one of the best schools in Nai' De, he was an incredible student and graduated with prestige second only to his fellow peer, Nelleidis J. Deloriia. He studied economics and politics in the hopes that he and his family could be on top of the world if he just tried hard enough.

Employment

As soon as he got out of college, Gleneam immediately started working as a businessman for his family, he was very successful and was able to bring the Adneimè family to the pinnacle of fortune for a time. After Nelleidis overtook his position of the greatest wealth, Gleneam ran away to join a group that could bring him the most power possible.

Gleneam desires to be the most powerful person on Laeriss, he always wants to rise above his current position and reach even higher. Gleneam hates having to serve as a watchman and messanger for the legion He will forever chase more and more unlikely goals until the day he dies, even if he became the leader of the legion, it is not a stretch to say that he would not be fully satisfied with his position.

Likes & Dislikes

More than anything else in life, Gleneam gets pleasure from being better than other people, though he rarely takes the time to enjoy his current state of power as he is always bitter to the ones above him. He hates the feeling of being inferior to any other being in the world.

Gleneam is very intelligent and extremely perceptive. His familiar also allows him to fly extremely fast. Using these abilities, Gleneam serves as a soaring guard of the legion territories and a messenger for the leaders.

Gleneam is never satisfied, he always hungers to be the people above him. He is eternally bitter that other people could ever be above him and is never happy. He is supremely cold to everybody around him, lacking true empathy for even his own flesh and blood.

Personality Quirks

Gleneam is known to noticeably twitch when in the presence of those who outrank him, this twitching is most apparent in his wings and hands. It is said the twitch exists in different forms and intensities at almost all times, even when he is asleep.

Gleneam worships Shraenire as to keep his power as a wielder and his position in the legion. Though it is said that his twitch of jealously is the most intense during this time of prayer to Shraenire.

Back when Gleneam still went by the name Khalek, he brought his family to the point of the richest on Laeriss. During this time and even before it he was extremely wealthy, having almost anything he desired due to the very successful Adneimè family business of harvesting Averiine. Though after Nelleidis and the Deloriia's surpassed them, Gleneam gave everything up to join The Shadow Legion. After rising in power to second in command, he regained much his wealth and power, though he still has a deep envy for Arckran and Nelleidis
