Sero Dagger
The Sero dagger is a very special dagger. Its round hilt is made of pure silver and there is a ruby at the very top. The blade is made from lerewood, has a single cutting edge and is exactly 23cm long. Those who own a sero dagger always wear it tied to the waist on their right side.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The silver hilt is more or less a disguise to make it seem a noble persons dagger to the casual observer. The wearing it on the right side, not a normal placement for a dagger, is the first clue that it may be something more than it seems. Many times in conversation a Ranisi member will casually ask to examine such a fine silver dagger if they notice it is worn on the right hand side. If the requested dagger is shown and the blade is the exotic and strong lerewood, then they will know it is a Sero dagger and that they have met a fellow Ranisi member.
Significance
The Sero dagger is a way to let other Ranisi members know that you are part of the society. To others it may simply look like a finely crafted weapon, which it is, but to other Ranisi members it lets them know you can be trusted. Why? Well the ruby shows that the blood price has been paid. The silver represents one's purity of commitment to the order. Lastly, the lerewood tells of the strength it took to become a member. Owning a Sero dagger is more than just having a secondary weapon.
