Meira Moon

Meira is the smaller of the two moons that orbit Kyron. It's luminous sapphire blue hue is what fills the night skies with a glowing light. Named after the goddess Meira, the moon is of great religious importance to the Grey Elves.

Geography

The Meira Moon has three small mountains on it, but they are not visible to the naked eye. They were discovered by a skysearcher using a Looking Glass. There are also two noticeable canyons on the suface. These can be openly seen on the moon's surface and both are located on the upper left portion of the moon, almost making a v-shape pointing towards the center. Most notable about the moon is that a chunk of it is clearly missing from the bottom right of the moon. To any observer it looks like a bite was literally taken out of the moon.

Natural Resources

While no one has ever been to the moon, it has gifted the world with one very important resource. When The Sundering occurred and formed Mount Ariteff, the rocks that were scattered around the mountain had a special magic property. When these rocks were next to trees that were growing, the magic of the rocks changed the trees into Lerewood . Grey Elves have since harvested this rock that came from the Meira Moon and will plant it alongside tree seeds to cultivate lerewood.

History

The moon is said to have been created by the goddess Meira at the dawn of the world so that there would be light during night. At some point during what the Grey Elves called The Ancient Times, a small chunk of the moon was broken off and fell to Kyron, creating Mount Ariteff. This is known as The Sundering.
