Galas Keramana is Chief Advisor to the Empress Sorsasta Quiris of Kyrn
The Empress came onto the throne younger than it was expected after the untimely death of her father.  Galas has been running the Empire in her name, and convincing her that she is making all the important decisions while he is just taking care of the things that are below her need to review. He knows that he will eventually have a problem once she grows older and wiser, but he is working to make himself trusted and indispensable so that she never finds out how much control he actually has.
He stays quiet and out of the way, standing off to the side where the Empress can see his subtle gestures that indicates how she should make decisions. For complicated matters, Galas has taught her to listen and then says that she needs to think about the situation before deciding. Galas will then coach her on what she needs to say the next time the matter comes before her.
Galas subtle hand has left the nobles and courtiers impressed with how wise and thought out the Empress' decisions are, so little suspicion is directed at her or Galas, which allows him to wield incredible power without anyone realizing what is happening.
