Brotherhood of the Stone
The Brotherhood of the Stone is a small but growing group of warriors dedicated to protecting the people of Kyrn from the monstrousities that plague the land.
The Brotherhood has three divisions: The Eudialyte Guard; The Obsidian Guard; and the Pyllite Guard. The Eudialyte Guard are the front line warriors that face foes with iron and steel close enough to be splattered with blood as they fall. The Obsidian Guard works in the shadows to flank and surprize the enemy, and take them out before they even know what is happening. The Pyllite Guard engages the enemy from a distance, often in support of the other divisions.
The Brotherhood beleives that there are many heroes of Kyrn who go about their lives doing the good work of protecting the people, without necessarily being members of the Children of the Light. It recognizes these heroes and invites them to join and gain the support and resources of their growing movement.
A long-term goal of the Brotherhood is to show the people of the Kyrn that they do not need anything more than themselves; That each person in the Middle Lands is a hero just waiting for the opportunity to rise to the occassion. Brotherhood members are always on the lookout for these unsung heroes, and when they find them, they invite them to join the Brotherhood by placing a rune-carved stone in their possession. By holding the stone, the person can sense the direction to the nearest other stone bearer, and thus contact, and an invitation to join can be made.
The Brotherhood, while not a secret organization, its members do tend to keep a low profile, and do not announce who they are and who they represent. This is due to an incident soon after they formed when the LightBringers discoverd that there were several Brotherhood members within its ranks, and purged them for disloyalty. Since then, Brotherhood members have kept quiet about who and who isn't a member, to protect their own from any unwarrented scrutiny.
