Annamermir

Structure

The County of Annamermir is mostly elven, and as such follows the traditional elvish organization. The Countess has several key advisors in her court, and welcomes the wisdom of all the town and village elders. Decisions are slow to come, but once made are respected by all.   The capital of Nemehsinf, is small and located deep in the woods. It is rare for any non-elf to be permitted to go there, so the Countess also has a palace in Wethal on the great trade route where she can meet and discuss issues with ambassadors and other non-elves who seek an audience.

Culture

The elves of Annamermir are graceful, and quiet. They prefer the quiet of the forest to the sounds of cities and towns, so while there are many in the towns and villages along the Great Trade Route, the majority of the elves live in simple villages away from the road, either deep in the forests, or in the hills and grasslands in the north.

Assets

The Annamer are famous for their warriors who are proficient both with the bow and sword. Many fine crafts are produced and sold in markets along the the Great Trade Route.

History

The elven kingdom of Annamermir is one of several ancient elven kingdoms that have been in existence for ten thousand years or more. It was one of the first to face the full onslaught during the Great Fallen Incursion. It's warriors and wizards held the tide back as the people escaped to the east. The last king of Annamermir fell during a battle just to the west of were the town of Mapmaw is today. After that defeat, the remainder of the elvish host withdrew, fleeing across the mountains to the elven kingdom of Quara, where they stayed and once again fought the Fallen as they advanced.    After the Incursion, the Annamer returned to their homes and started rebuilding, but this time as vassals to the new Emperor. Over time, and through political maneuverings, the Annamer were placed under the protection of the Duke of Ysward.

Demography and Population

Most of the Annamer live in small villages scattered across the lands.  The larger population centers have a mix of races, predominantly the Annamer, but there are other elves, as well as humans, halflings, and gnomes.     Deebrook Loshield Mapmaw Nemehsinf  Qirkoz Wethal

Military

The Annamer pride themselves in their skills with bow and blade, and all children, male and female, receive training from an early age. Each person is expected to take part in militia drills from the time they are teenagers, until the time of The Nostarë Olinwa. Even after choosing their life path, all Annamer are expected to be ready to answer the call to arms.   The halflings of the northern hills, while not as well trained as the elves, do produce several good units of slingers and archers.

Religion

There are several temples in Annamermir, in Wethal, Deebrook, Loshield and Mapmaw, but most of the smaller villages do not have these structures, and services are conducted outside in the open often just at sunrise.

Agriculture & Industry

Much of the population lives in the forest, and agriculture is limited. But the forest provides many plants and animals to feed the population. The northern grasslands are used by the halflings to farm and ranch, and much of that is sold or traded to the Annamer in the forests.   The Annamer craft many works of art, as well as weapons, particularly swords and bows. Most of which are used by their own forces, but many make there way to Wethal to be sold in market.

Trade & Transport

Trade with the outside world is usual only along the Great Trade Route, but internally, goods are moved in small lots amongst the forest villages and up into the northern hills.
