It is the year 1002 of the Empire, two years after the Kymerian Empire erupted into civil war and turmoil. The Many Lands, a coalition of almost half the provinces of the Empire, have risen up in rebellion in response to the countless atrocities committed under the rule of the previous Emperor.   The young Empress Katerina III rules the remaining countries of the Empire with an iron grip, gearing up for an all-out assault on the rebels, while former Lord of War Matthew Gaul raises the armies of the Many Lands to prepare for the battles to come.   The Catheric Faith, an advocate for peace for hundreds of years, can do little to stop the civil war.   Meanwhile, many neutral countries in the east and south used their chance to separate from the Empire to carve out their own destiny in this brave new world.   And in the far north of Farmaast and Ghotland, the beastmasters of the Goliath clans, and the demonic undead warriors of the Dirge, sit in waiting, ready to strike as the rest of the continent drowns in the flames of war.     It is a time of chaos and conflict, and many an adventurer will attempt to find their destiny among the war-torn land of Kymeria.
