Closest to the ocean, Berrilton had a full five minutes to consider their fate as arcane protections against storms were quickly redirected. To no one's surprise though, the spells didn't hold long. The combination of pure weight and the spell being aligned to face the opposite direction meant the small reprieve did little for the community. A rumor persists that a magic school managed to somehow protect itself and its property, but no evidence of such a structure has been presented to date.

Modern Berrilton offers a unique opportunity, or so some arcanists claim. A strategy has been set forward that suggests a combination of arcane walls and moving earth on either side of the river channel might allow the ground to be made dry enough for habitation. Scholars fully support the idea, going on for hours at the possibilities of finding a mostly intact city from the fourth Age. However, the people with the financial means to move this idea forward seem much less enthused, questioning the value of raising a fishing city and keeping it supplied in what amounts to a well.
