Festival of Ribbons
The festival of ribbons is a long standing nefadric tradition celebrated throughout the Nefadric Empire and has evolved with it.
History
Nearly two milenia ago during the great uprising of the nefadrim the nefadric people of all walks of life bandaged the wounds of their brothers in arms as they were united by a common cause. Bloody rags and makeshift bandages were ubiquitous among the nefadric people in these dire times.
Later when the dust from the uprising setteled nefadrim started wrapping a single clean rag arround their arm as accessory to signify the unity and brotherhood of the nefadrim. This practice was especially popular among soldiers.
As time went on rags became white bands of cloth and eventually colourful ribbons. The meaning of the ribbons also shifted as the nefadric people tended to 'bandage' those that are closesed to them. Now applying a ribbon to somebody is seen as a declaration of love.
Execution
The actual celebrations of the festival differ greatly between regions of the empire, though usually settelments have some form of dance, feast or gathering. Even the length of the festivities varry from a single day to a few days. However in general larger settelments usualy have more elaborate and lavish festivities.
Durring the festival of ribbons singles propose to somebody they fancy with a ribbon and lovers apply a ribbon to their partner.
