In a time but a few hundred years past, mankind would stumble onto a mysterious force they came to know as 'the Muse'. The discovery of this mystical essence would bring about a new era as man began to prod at these newfound magical boundaries and discover the fragility of their own reality.
Though the true events behind The Enlightening are a mystery even to the most cultured of scholars, it was humanity, in all their ceaseless ambition that enervated the barriers between realms, allowing all manner of creatures to spill into their domain from realities they would come to know as "Astral Dreams".
Though the truth of these dreams eludes even the most acclaimed minds, tis' said they take a collective form birthed of every individual's very thoughts. Taking shape as the Legends and Myths of mankind's history made manifest.
By the 17th century, a little over 300 years since The Enlightening, life throughout Tellus has taken on a newfound sense of normalcy, as Eikons, powerful creatures with the power to affect both our reality and that of the dreams, have taken the place of traditional religions as they collude with world leaders and corrode distant corners of reality.
