Aeykosi Myth in Kosmodion | World Anvil

Aeykosi

Written by Zachary S. Wells
The Aeykosi (the Twenty) are the primary pantheon of Kosmodion, made up of twenty deities, each of which embodies a different aspect of mortal thought and life. They are the gods of the mind and the gods of the soul.

The Aeykosi are believed to be without form, amorphous, and possibly existing in all things at once. On the rare occasion a mortal is granted a vision of a member of the Aeykosi, they might take on the shape that the mortal expects. Whether the god in question is truly taking on form or the mortal's mind is simply creating something comprehendible out of the divine is the true mystery.

Worship of these gods is prevalent throughout all the civilized races of Kosmodion, although religious practices do differ. Adherents to the gods are sometimes granted tremendous power, regardless of traditions or status, although some question the legitimacy of strangers, rivals, and enemies. The Aeykosi often choose to guide mortals through indirect ways, although their messages tend to become more direct around their High Days, and even more so near the ending of a cycle. And there is still great debate regarding the actual goals and motivations of the Aeykosi.

The Aeykosi are grouped into fives, each group associated with a different season based on the collective aspects they represent. The months of Kosmodion are also named for the Aeykosi because of this.
