Rosewood Trade Company

The Rosewood Trade Company is a large-scale human-run Trading Company that operates over many regions of Korrisia. Founded in 244 AoH by Eluicious Rosewood, the company initially operated in the city of City-State of Waterdeep specializing in trades of artisan and crafted goods, Rosewood expanded and began acquiring small woodworking companies of Waterdeep, effectively taking over the market in regards to foresting, woodworking, carpentry, and even started expanding more into construction. The primary mode of income of the Rosewood Trade Company is in its Trade Routes, the Company manages a fleet of transport ships and caravans that bring woodcrafts from Waterdeep to Calemdar, to Lindorin, and even to the Northern Realm cities such as Bryn Shander.   Currently in year 9 AoT, the Rosewood Trade Company is a powerhouse in the economic landscape of the Empire of Korrisia. The company's current chief officer is Marcus Eluicious Rosewood, a descendant of the Founder. Marcus Rosewood is a shrewd and cruel merchant lord who has relocated the Trade Company headquarters back to Waterdeep City from Lindorin.   Rosewood Trade Company utilizes much of its capital to reinforce the already aggressive relationship it has over the smaller companies of the region, ensuring that politicians, guild leaders, even adventurers are sure to support the Rosewood Brand. Many believe that Marcus Rosewood either himself sits as a Hidden Lord of Waterdeep and/or has several in his pocket.

Structure

Rosewood Trading Company is run heavily through Marcus Eluicious Rosewood's office as the self-proclaimed Merchant Lord. Marcus has named   Donovan Kellar - Manages all on-site foresting camps. Kellar is known as the Woodsman's Whip for his harsh and brutal nature. "If you're a Rosewood Forester, you're better be a god damn useful forester." Before Donovan became the Head Foreman, he was the company's most renowned forester. Standing at a massive 6'6", Donovan is a mountain of a man, and can single-handedly down trees with a handful of swings from his trusted axe Woodwarper  Trevin Demitry Rosewood - Marcus' son and is in charge of all company security. This, most often, has to do with handling Cenarion Druids who attempt to halt the deforestation of the Cenarion Forest. Now that the Trading Company has expanded to Calemdar and Quisalon, Trevin finds himself traveling between all three locations to deal with: protests, wild animal attacks, cursed ruins, the odd miffed treant. Trevin is a skilled battle commander and served as a Redshield for 6 years before retiring to join his father. Trevin is also married to Alia Magnus of the Magnus Foraging Company, uniting their houses.   Lynesh Gildemun - Matriarch of the Gildemun family, an ancient and powerful merchant dynasty that fell into ruin after the Era of Troubles ended, and her ancestor Brendar Gildemun was discovered committing dark magics and atrocities across the planes. Lynesh seeks to rebuild her family's name. Currently Lynesh stands as a minor Imperial Noble, but has the Gildemun ancestral gift of being unequaled with managing funds. Lynesh is the Rosewood Head of Finance and has complete and utter oversight and control of the Company's funds. Not even Marcus Rosewood can move funds without Lynesh having eyes on all steps of movement.

Assets

Rosewood has multiple foresting camps on the Cenarion Island in the forest North of Waterdeep. The logs harvested are then transported via caravan to two large-scale camps that process the logs into planks. These two camps have state of the art equipment, and through an agreement with the Empire and some of the Lords of Waterdeep, have Redshield soldiers stationed within the camps.   After the wood has been processed, it's taken to artisans outside and within Waterdeep that work as contracted employees under Rosewood, these are often individuals whose debt has been purchased by the company to exploit them as cheap labor.    Rosewood also contracts a number of mercenaries, ex soldiers, former adventurers, and brigands to act as their security force. The company could care less how the problem is dealt with as long as it is dealt with. Marcus Rosewood is quite skilled at negotiating his way out of concerns, and also can rely on his business associate Bartholomew Grimmlock II if need-be.
