Magnus Foraging Co.

Magnus Foraging Co. was founded in the village of Cryllor in the year 439 AH by a middle aged-Firbolg named Rohorn Magnus who originally opened a small market stall named “Wanderers Intake” where Rohorn only sold simple alchemy ingredients like gillyweed, amanita mushroom, to even some uncommon ingredients such as nightshades. Throughout several decades, Wanderer's Intake grew to be a continent spanning corporation that was the leading industry for all alchemical reagents. Most if not all shops in the Southern Hemisphere of Korrisia purchase their ingredients and materials from Magnus Foraging directly or a subsidiary company purchased by the Company.   Magnus Foraging is the newest company to join the Dragon Exchange, a Merchant Alliance of three major industry leaders in Korrisia seeking to maximize profits and exploit the lack of labor laws in the Empire of Korrisia.

History

Rohorn Magnus was best known around the Cryllor marketplace for “Rohorn's Rowan Berries” for Rohorn cultivated rowan berries in a nearby grassland area with his wife Reyora Magnus. It is well known that Rohorn gave free ingredients to struggling churches, temples, and houses of worship. 11 years pass by of Rohorn and Reyora working day in and day out at their market stall, they formed friendships with many other vendor families and the year 450 AH, Rohron and his wife had twin children, Krig Magnus and Aila Magnus, brother and sister. As the twins grew up, so did the popularity of the family market stall, soon people from neighboring villages came to purchase goods from the Wanderers Intake, even Lawspeaker Derek Krindlgadst had sent an errand boy to request a handful of ingredients and moonstalker flowers. Moonstalker flowers grew in rarity and in swamp marshes scarce to the kingdom. However, after several tests, Rohorn was able to create a nonnative swamp ecosphere to cultivate moonstalker flower. Lawspeaker Krindlgadst was impressed and offered a physical shop location next to the council hall where Rohorn could fill council ingredient orders.   However, in 462 AH when the Fey attacked Cryllor, Rohorn lost his wife amidst the chaos as well their store and ecosphere was damaged. Feeling the need to pick up his life in Cryllor and escape the remembrance of his late wife. The remaining council had sent word of Rohorn’s ability to cultivate unique herbs and ingredients had request a plot of land for him in the mountain plateau area behind the City of Drang so his talent might be used for the kingdom.   After 3 years (465 AH) of moving and building a homestead and farmland. Rohorn and his children with help from newly hired employees built a handful of ecospheres, capable of cultivating unique, rare, and nonnative flora for the kingdom of Drang but renamed the business to Magnus' Foragings. For the next 6 years. Rohorn began receiving letters requesting ingredients across the oceans, for the lands have heard of the high-quality ingredients and advancements in being able to grow any flora anytime. Magnus' Foragings expanded and now have a 19 acre plot of land in the mountains behind the City of Drang filled with alchemy goods, medicinal herbs, and flora ingredients. Rohorn spent years experimenting on a newly created flora ingredient. After synthesizing and root splicing, Rohorn created Reyora’s Bliss, to immortalize his late wife by crafting a beautiful yet powerful flower.

However, in 2 ETT Rohorn’s daughter (age 25) suggested expanding ingredient inventory collection to include creature ingredients such as Crawler Mucus (found from Carrion Crawler) to giants toe. Aila Magnus began venturing out with a crew of employees to collect harvestable creature ingredients and even bring back specimens to farm a steadier supply of creature ingredients. Because of Aila’s thinking, this brought a larger clientele to enchanters, healers, and higher versed alchemists. Magnus Foraging are now a well-known large-scale company that exports a wide range of herbs and ingredients across the Kingdom of Drang but also has reach to the rest of the lands of the Empire. Although Magnus Foraging headquarters are located in the mountains north of the City of Drang, they have smaller store fronts located in Bryn Shander and the City-State of Waterdeep in Calemdar, as well as a store front in the city of Ashglade in Arcania.   in 6 ETT, Rohorn grew feeble and old after 37 of building up his business to its high status and decided it was time to give the company to his twin son and daughter. Krig and Aila decided to share overseeing Magnus Foraging, Krig oversaw the herb and flora aspect while Aila oversaw and orchestrated crews to obtain the creature-based ingredients. Rohorn still made appearances to keep up the image but stopped working. It is unknown to the public and to the Empire but Aila began to take backdoor and uncatalogued order requests for illegal or highly dangerous alchemy ingredients such as Basilisk Breath without her father’s knowledge. Krig knows of his twin sister’s doings and is against this and wishes to preserve the greatness of the business their father started and also to honor their late mother who has also helped in its creation.   9 ETT, Magnus Foraging headquarters now has grown significantly and has expanded their land to have 44 acres filled with various ecospheres to grow and cultivate ingredients as well as farm more creature-based ingredients. Magnus Foraging is commonly referred to in short as either Magnus Co. or Magnus Foraging.
