Grimmrock Mining Company

Grimmrock Mining Co. simply known by many as Grimmrock is a large-scale mining corporation situated primarily in Calemdar and the Halcyon Desert. The company's main industry is stripping the lower portions of the Halcyon Mountains between Calemdar and the Halcyon Desert in search of heavy metals to produce arms, armor, shields, mounted weaponry, and hulls for both air and sea ships.
One of the largest encampments is located East of the City of Everlund, and is nicknamed "The Tunnel that Never Sleeps". The encampment is set right on the river, and the miners work day and night to strip large pieces from the mountains and dump them into custom built "Sifting Barges" that allow river water to flow through the mineral hold whilst the low ships gently float down to the main refinery located outside of Baldur's Gate.
Grimmrock's mining tactics are widely known to create massive instabilities in the higher regions of the mountains they mind, but the few protests raised have been swiftly and financially washed away. The Grimmrock Mining Company is a founding member of the Dragon Exchange merchant alliance. Often times any issues or concerns that require a firm and iron handed response are deferred to the Grimmrock Company.

Structure

The Regional Directors are:
Northern- Kyla Grimmrock, Bartholomew II's Sister. She threw a fit about Bartholomew II receiving the company, so to appease her and his father, Bartholomew II gifted her a position. She's pleased, but confused as to why she keeps receiving 'accident reports' and 'budget requests'. She usually throws these papers out.
Central- Pierre Tremeser, the son of the original owner Jean. Pierre began working for the company at a young age and when Jean sold the company to the Grimmrocks, he put a clause in the paperwork stating that they would always guarantee him a job. Thus, Pierre was able to stay on with the company since its early days. Since then, the Grimmrock's have slowly given him promotions, trying to keep this possible enemy placated and close by. Bartholomew II has attempted to buy out Pierre's position many times, but to no avail. Pierre's official title is Regional Director-Central but do to the incompetence of the other two Regional-Directors, he is in essence running all three regions. He started having their piled up paperwork re-routed to his office long ago and signs off on requisition documents, pay outs, and contracts for new comers. He has a grand idea that he might one day reclaim the company for his father if the work, or The Grimmrocks, don't kill him first.
Southern- Dentri Krommux, a childhood friend of Bartholomew II's, Krommux needed a job after being removed from the College of Magic for 'Lewd Behavior'. Bartholomew II assisted, and appointed him the position. This helped Dentri's coin purse greatly, but he spends most of his day drinking or gambling it away. When confronted about paperwork or actually attending company meetings, he responds with, "What even is mining? I don't get it."

Assets

The company has 10 active Mining locations, all located at the bases of the Halcyon mountains. The sites work with about 150-200 general mining laborers, 20-50 skilled/magical miners, 20 Direct Supervisors, 5 General Coordinators ,and 1 Site Manager. These site managers fall under 1 of three Regional Directors, Northern, Central, and Southern, who all directly report to Bartholomew Grimmrock II.

History

It was founded 30 years ago under the name Tremeser Mining, until Bankruptcy forced the owner Jean Tremeser to sell the company to Bartholomew Grimmrock for "dirt cheap" the reason the company was struggling in those days was the Jean focused on single tunnel, focused mines, which pierced deep into the mountains in search of specific minerals. Today, those tunnels are used by the Grimmrock's as 'sever points' to cut large swaths of the mountain face away. The company was first owned by Bartholomew Grimmrock I, then Bartholomew Grimmrock II was given the company as a gift on his 26th birthday.
