Social Structure

One of the interesting traits of the Ivegers is their monogamous relationships. Once mated the male and female pair bond for life and will raise multiple clutches together. Furthermore the pair will stay with thier young for roughly 6 months after hatching before the adolestent Ivegers leave the area to search for their own mates and spawning ground. Fiercly protective parents will fight to the death to protect a clutch of eggs though distraction and escape is their primary means of defence.
