Look, its an endless maze of corridors, bridges, tunnels, shelves, stairs, and ramps. Most of it is lined with little crystals that can impart knowledge without context. Of course, you cant write anything down, including a map. So yes, people get lost from time to time. But if you need a shortcut to archmage and can bribe some powerful being to get you there i guess its no more or less dangerous than any other shortcut to power.

Purpose / Function

A magical repository of all the worlds knowledge that is not stored somewhere else. This includes even undiscovered knowledge. The knowledge is stored in what can best by described as vision crystals. Ask a Keeper what you want to know and they will provide you with a guide to the location of the crystals best able to answer your question.

Defenses

Sure, there are some magical traps here and there, and the occasional Construct. And a few ghosts, cant forget those. Oh, there is a dragon in residence right now who has agreed to prevent theft of the section he is in. Also we lost an orc tribe a few years ago, still have no idea where they ended up. And pleas dont antagonize any wizards or liches you see. This is a place of study. Also we advise against trying to learn the names of too many planar creatures, most have "observers" in their sections that will try to discourage that sort of thing
