Personal history

A talented wizard, Ignis quickly rose through the ranks of his fellow students. Taking a keen interest in fire magic, he excelled at using an ancient art of Flame Divination to read his opponents' intentions before they even made them. Counter to the standard strategy of using fire to burn opponents, Ignis used this talent to dodge and counter opponent attacks, finishing them off with a simple combination of spells specifically meant to attack their weaknesses. During his rise to Magister, he was intensely respected and feared among his peers. It was even rumored that he was going to be the first non-Staleus archmage in centuries. The talk of this was so common that Ignis started to believe it himself.
However, all his letters to Bocassius Staleus went unanswered. His nomination to the position of Archmage never came. And so, he became resentful of the academy for seemingly falling to nepotism and not nominating the most qualified candidate. This sentiment had also been brewing among the others at the academy for quite some time, ever since the War of the Twin Fires and the seemingly pointless result of the war. Ignis gathered a fair number of supporters and launched a coup against the Archmage, but was unsuccessful and expelled from the academy. He then took his followers and traveled to the Bizian League, forming the Covenant of Fire.

Sexuality

Ignis has never had a strong draw towards any gender, and has long considered this a benefit. Without the distraction of romantic pursuits, he is free to continue studying Flame Divination.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Rediscovered the ancient art of Flame Divination, enhancing his magical combat abilities. He used this to develop many spells which only he and a few trusted confidants know how to use.
