After the fire she joined forces with local teens Yung Lee and Hazel Lowrey, and the neighborhood dog, Hairy Jack (who is apparently a magical protector spirit) to battle The Smiling Man and his Hellhounds at the Tower Hotel.
Later when Katy Hathorne and her dog Cleo were attacked by Hellhounds, Eustacia Booker and Hazel Lowrey rescued her and then teamed up with her to save Hairy Jack from the Angel Gabriel Animal Shelter in Faith Ridge, which turned out to be under the sway of The Smiling Man.
