Laku City
Government
As most human settlements in Ogha, they don't have a central government. They all follow The Law and a big group of enforcers is in charge of interpreting it to keep order and safety. Even among these group, the only official rank is the Laku's law enforcement leader. Voice of experience is always listen and teams are usually formed unofficially or for a specific situation though.
Some trading guilds or professional areas have some rules set and leaders who they go to for advice, in order to minimize the damage to the environment and guaranty a reasonable distribution of the product, but those groups are not determined or controled by a high authority and the spots in any kind of council is earned with years of experience or some kind of accomplishment.
Infrastructure
The core of the city are the piers, which are located all around the lake and organized by function or according to the kind of production you can find in each of them. Buildings in those areas vary to fulfill different purposes, while several buildings are unique for artistic reasons or due to the customs of the age they were designed.
While some lodgings and residential buildings can be found near the lake, most of them are located a little farther.
Districts
Despite the considerable extension of the city and the lake itself, there is no particular districts for the law enforcers, even when they are usually assigned to areas they are already familiar with, their authority and relation with other enforcers is the same in any part of the settlement.
Some of the piers are directed by the specialists of a particular guild, and there each ship (as well as the fleets) have their own style of leadership. Yet, there are no official sectors, and every activity or form of interaction is lead but the person or group with the given situation, or decisions are taken by the group with the guidance of any available law enforcer.
| The city has "always been there", but it wasn't always the core of Ogha's tourism and commerce. It's probably due to the lake, since this is the only natural source of clean water and any local "sea products", as they call them. People come from all over the world to trade products or enjoy a trip to the lake, which is in reality the only sea of Ogha. While the Community's official business aren't conducted here, all the spacial ports and most accommodations for outsiders are located in Laku City, they even provide the means for travelers to visit other places in Ogha. |
