Four Times Murderer Snake

Not the kindest of names, but this beautiful creature is not know to be kind either.

The prey never sees it coming until the "snake" sink it's claws on it, looking to damage vital organs.

Before the prey can react, the snake bites its neck.

In rare ocassions the prey is not totally dead when it's swallowed whole and the the digestive process start.

It's blood it's a lethal poison that it's absorbed through the skin of many living beings (humans, for instance) and it's even faster if ingested. When attacked, it will usually turn the hunter in prey while it's suffering the first symptoms (disorientation or a state of calmness).

Even in their first years, when they are small and people consider them cute instead of a danger, they have these terrifying feeding habits, and the majority of people thinks it better to keep the distance.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A snake like creature with four pairs of legs that are relatively close considering their size. From the eyes of many people it would be more correct to say that they are lizards with tails twice as long as the rest of the body.
Each leg ends in four sharp claws and they have retractile fangs.
Their length varies as they grow and depending on their habitat, as well as their colors and even the size of the limbs. Some may walk on four, or use the first pair of legs as a sort of thumbless hands.

Their skin, fangs and claws are very strong and useful, but they can only be harvested long after the creature's death.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They are common in the deserts of Ogha, taking different appearances to hide and move faster.
Biologists had recently determined that the killing reed of the the Desert's Forest, the underground snakes from the Dry Sea, the Ghosts and the Legged snake are all members of the same species, with only a few practical changes developed as they grown.
This discovery leads them to think that the creatures could be all over Ogha.

Average Intelligence

This creature is extremely smart, not only to hunt and survive, but to play and develop relationships among their kind or with other species. They have favorite places for what can only be considered "sentimental reasons" and it's thought that they are able to understand human languages and maybe others.

"Are you saying you have a secret lizard pet?" Decklan asked, patting the small head of the creature. "An eight leg's lizard pet! So alien!"
I wanted to warn him that it could get scared of decide to bit him, but he had already touch it, and it seem to be fine.
Framsic smiled. "He's not a pet, snakes are wild. And what is a lizard?"
"This is a lizard," I said.
My brother was arguing: "Cat's are wild too, and yet they love to be petted."
The lizard seemed to nod in answer.
"Is it dangerous?" I had to ask.
"Only if you taste like a rodent or hurt him. And he's not easy to hurt."
