Skullstinger

Basic Information

Anatomy

The skullstinger has much the same structure as a very large scorpion. It's stringer is however spiked and coloured like a cacti with a large needle built to suction rather than eject poison with. It's exoskeleton is also built with odd bubbles on the back that is both hard as stone and resembles sand in colour, while it's belly remains a soft shell.

Genetics and Reproduction

It's unsure how exactly this creature reproduces, though it's believed it is through eggs in hidden burrows. Though any of these hidden burrows are yet to be found by anyone. The creature after all is pretty rare and often found in the deserts far away from watersources.

Ecology and Habitats

This scorpion generally makes the dry desert it's home. Where many other creatures would pass through from oasis to oasis, or some sea or riverbed they like to hide out and pretend to be a cactus. Whenever another creature comes too near this fake cactus, it's stringer will strike out and try to impale it's prey. Once caught, it will proceed to such out the innards of it's prey untill they're dried up, and then move on to a new preying grounds.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

This scorpion is mostly a blind and deaf creature, though it has an extraordinary sense for vibrations, which it uses to locate food and prey with.
