Greyhammers
Naming Traditions
Family names
The surname for a Greyhammer child is often a rather easy ritual to conduct. Unlike most other Greydwarven groups, they simply look at their weapon, then at the gender of the child. If it is a male, it's named after the fathers weapon, if it is a female, it is named after it's mothers weapon. Ironically, in the nintynine percent of all cases both parents are already using the same weapon which likely their own parents before them also used so it's no big deal.
Examples of these names could be Grimhammr, Cinderspear, Koalhammr and Runeshield.
Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
Considering all forces aligned with hell are in some form or way manifested with warp, the Greyhammers have had to cope with the forces of chaos. Their souls, now infused with the energies of the warp could easily mutate their forms and bodies to potentially chaotic outputs.
The response to this has been to carve holding runes in the skin of the individual. Each maturing Greyhammer have an intricate pattern of runes tattooed into their backs and blessed by the essence of their ancestors to prevent mutations from running rampid, while allowing the strength and wisdom of past paragons to instead flow through their veins.
Shared customary codes and values
Unlike most demonic creatures, the Greyhammers hate cruelty and senseless murder with a passion. They believe all foes slain must be given a proper burrial, unless the spirits of the damned rise again to enact their vengance. This, as a polar opposite to other to other groups of Greyhammers have them refuse most of the warpforged gear which is considered their birthright.
Common Etiquette rules
Common etiquette demands that a Greyhammer carry themselves with a good posture and greater respect to their surroundings, as anything less would stain their honour as a cultural group. One is also never to speak without reason, with few exceptions such as important information, outside of the personal home, taverns and other places of leisure.
Common Dress code
Even though it can get uncomfortable at times, Greyhammers are to always wear their armour on, with the exception for when they visit the same places as stated in etiquette. They are also never to wear anything that has been warpforged, as it is seen as self degradation. Something which is extremely inappropriate in their culture, not to mention honourless.
Art & Architecture
While they're warriors at heart, no group of people would waste their times doing nothing between the fighting. At such, stonecarving has become a large cultural phenomen among the Greyhammers. It is common practice that the deceased of their own warriors are sculptured in their fullest of glory and the statue thereafter placed in one of their many large catacomb-libraries, where their story will be preserved. Thanks to this, the amount of literary works in Greydwarven society is near the same amount of passed warriors.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Strength, honor and dignity. It may not really sound like beauty, though the Greyhammers are strong believers that beauty is on the inside, not on the decieving outsides. In fact they go so far as to loath the most common attractive traits, such as slender and graceful shapes and forms with smooth silken skin, prefering scars and rugged, weathered muscles as signmarks of their worthiness and stories.
Gender Ideals
If you're a Greyhammer you are also a warrior. Though the males are generally bigger and stronger by nature, it doesn't mean too much when everyone is a biologically enhanced killing machine clad in hard plate and wielding yet harder plate breakers.
Courtship Ideals
How Greyhammer courtships are formed is heavily affected by their warriors culture, as they believe the power of love is the true, most pure energy of chaos that exists. Their bonds of courtship is forged from combat, by the ability to stand back to back and move two souls, two bodies and two weapons as if carried by a singular mind. Either they both make it out to love another day, or they both go down in an epic blaze worthy for the ballads!
Relationship Ideals
Loyality and trust means everything for a relationship, wether it's romantic or just friendly. As warriors and comrades in arms, Greyhammers are expected to valiantly stand side by side with their brothers and sisters. This demand for respect from their fellows isn't seen as anything odd among their people and the thought that one would not lay down their lives for a fellow warrior is seen as blasphemy, as it so easily could be any of their numbers who are next at death's doorstep.
